Stealth Startup
Redefining a category of tools for audio professionals. The product isn't public yet; the stack is Go and Avalonia, shipping cross-platform desktop.
Engineering leader & hands-on developer
Twenty years shipping consumer sports, media, and audio products. Currently co-founding a startup and leading an AI health product.
For fifteen years I've built products for how people play: fantasy sports, live sports streaming for worldwide networks, radar-based athlete measurement, automated sports content, and tools for audio professionals. I've shipped them as a co-founder, a director, a VP, and a senior engineer. The seat matters less than the shipping.
I lead teams when a team is what's needed, and write the code myself when that's faster. Recent work spans Go, Kotlin, React Native, and LLM-based products, from cross-platform desktop to mobile to cloud microservices.

Product Lead
Leading product for an AI-forward health and fitness experience, turning large-model capability into something people actually use to get healthier.
Consulting
Designing and building a pickleball player ratings platform: REST APIs in Laravel on Azure, companion mobile app in React Native.
A VP of Engineering's judgment without the full-time seat: hiring, architecture, roadmap, delivery.
Hands-on product engineering when the team is small and the product doesn't exist yet. I've done 0 to 1 four times.
You describe the product, I ship it: backend, mobile, web.
2024 – Present
The three engagements above.
2023 – 2024
Led platform engineering, product management, and QA for automated sports content. Delivered the roadmap on time and cut company-wide cloud spend by 23%.
2020 – 2023
Led all software development, shipping the next generation of radar-based athlete measurement: iOS and Android apps and the APIs behind them.
2019 – 2020
Took an IC seat on the early team building a grocery commerce platform: Kotlin microservices on Azure. I go where the product needs me, including back into the code.
2016 – 2019
Led a team of 20 delivering a video application platform and consumer streaming apps for worldwide sports and entertainment networks.
2015 – 2016
Led the team that built a microservice development platform for the special order business.

Co-founded and built The Pick King, a virtual-sportsbook Facebook game: web front end and the cloud APIs behind it.
2014 – 2015
Built the web version of the Subtext classroom reading application.
2010 – 2013
Led the Portland team on client work for Microsoft, KEXP, and the Gates Foundation. Personally built KEXP's audio streaming server.
2006 – 2010
Enterprise systems and the first decade of shipping.
Away from the keyboard I'm usually outside and moving slowly toward something far away: backpacking trips, marathons, century rides, and the occasional triathlon.
Endurance sports and shipping software reward the same habit. Show up, keep going, finish.
